Blue and Gray

Zac Swann
Blue & Gray

Prolific and unceasing,
The study of your face
An archive of your inquiry
Is written on a scroll
And carved into a tablet
And cast into a cloud.

 Faded and exposed,
The angles that you choose
To coldly cut the colors in
Grays and Grecian blues

The document is powerless
To shape the simple subject
The precedent of paper
Is heavy on the lens

Couldn’t find the right word
So I reached out to touch it.
Surround yourself with fingers;
Feel the light pour in.

Even the shallow curves of Earth
Become unfocused on a digital plane.
